Favscan is currently a demonstration prototype. The scanner on the App page runs entirely in your browser using pre-canned example data — it does not fetch any URL or icon file. Server-side scanning is planned but not yet built.
Favscan does not collect any personal data. Because the current prototype runs entirely in your browser, no URL you enter is transmitted to any server. Scan results are displayed in your browser only and are not stored, logged, transmitted, or retained anywhere.
The tool does not use cookies, local storage, or any other form of persistent storage. It does not set any tracking mechanisms of any kind.
When server-side fetching is implemented, the URL you enter will be fetched by the server in order to perform the scan. The server may receive the URL itself and your IP address as part of standard HTTP request handling. This information will not be logged, stored, or used beyond the immediate request. This privacy policy will be updated before server-side scanning is enabled.
Favscan loads font files from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com) for typography. Your browser may communicate with Google's servers to download these fonts. Google's privacy policy governs those communications. No other third-party services are used.
No legal entity has been registered for this service yet. The operator must supply an entity name, address, and jurisdiction before this policy binds anyone. Until then, this policy describes the technical operation of the tool but does not constitute a legal agreement.
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top will be revised. Continued use of the tool after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
A contact method has not been established yet. There is no mailbox, no support address, and no legal representative for this service at this time.
